Dubbed as the “richest game in football”, with the winner gaining promotion to the Premier League, the PlayOff Final this Saturday sees Fulham play Aston Villa.  The bookies are suggesting this is going to be a close final, so we’ve been doing our research to provide you with Championship PlayOff Final Betting Tips.

The end of the Championship season went right down to the wire for the 2nd automatic promotion spot.  In the end, Cardiff City was victorious and pushed Fulham down into 3rd place to face 6th placed Derby County.  The East Midlands team took a 1-0 win in the first leg, but Fulham got the job done in the 2nd leg with a relatively routine 2-0 win at Craven Cottage.

In the other semi-final, Aston Villa saw off Middlesbrough with a 1-0 aggregate win over 2 legs, having won the first leg at The Riverside Stadium and then held off Middlesbrough at Villa Park.  There was a contentious decision of Sam Johnstone (Aston Villa goalkeeper) handling outside of the area late in the 2nd leg, but Mike Dean only handed the goalkeeper a yellow card, and Stewart Downing’s resulting free-kick thumped off the crossbar.
